    Research Interests Related to CRR

    • Social aspects of the use of aircrafts in recreational areas (i.e. national parks, conservation areas)
    • Tourism in mountain regions and tourism development in rural areas
    • Mountain sports and recreation
    • Social and environmental aspects concerning motorized recreation vs. non-motorized recreation

    Research Experience

    • 2008 - Currently writing a Master thesis on the subject of aircraft usage in Aoraki/Mt Cook NP
    • 2008 - Research assistant for CRR on the Hakatere project, responsible for the qualitative interviews.
    • 2007 - PgDipTour dissertation, University of Otago. ‘The ski resort and the dedicated visitor – Treble Cone and the freeride tribe’.
    • 2006 - Research assistant for NORUT (Northern Research Institute) Social Science Research; Winter tourism in Troms County – possibilities and constraints in the development of winter recreation activities.
    • 2005 - Bachelor dissertation, University of Tromsø, Norway. Subject: winter tourism development in the Lyngen Alps, Northern Norway.
